The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the Supervisory Role of the Financial Services Authority on the Application of High Interest Rates from Illegal Online Loans in a Jakarta case study. The research method uses a normative juridical approach. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with business law experts. Documentation studies by studying various journals, books, and documentation from the internet. Data analysis using a business law theory approach. The results of the study that based on Law No. 21 of 2011 the Financial Services Authority has an important role to regulate and supervise all business activities that operate in the financial sector, both banking companies and non-banking companies. Based on Number 77/POJK/2016, the OJK is trying to provide regulations on information technology-based money lending and borrowing services. Similarly, based on circular number 19/SEOJK/06 2023, OJK is trying to regulate the application of normal interest rates that prioritize protection to create social welfare. Non-banking financial companies such as illegal pinjol that are not in accordance with these regulations, legal action by OJK is curative, namely by closing and revoking their business licenses. In addition, there are preventive efforts. OJK by socializing various regulations and fostering online lending companies to always prioritize business ethics in running their business.
