The phenomenon of LGBT and the debate surrounding same-sex marriage legalization in Indonesia have become controversial issues, provoking both support and opposition from various segments of society. This study discusses the shifting social perspectives on LGBT within the influence of global culture while considering the persistence of traditional and religious values in Indonesia. Proponents of legalization emphasize the importance of respecting human rights and promoting social equality, while opponents argue that such steps could disrupt the social and cultural order of the nation. This research analyzes the LGBT phenomenon in Indonesia within the context of Pancasila values and evaluates the emerging arguments for and against legalization. The results indicate that inclusive dialogue and prudent policy approaches are needed to create a society that respects civil rights without compromising social harmony. Through in-depth analysis, this study aims to provide guidance for policymakers in responding to this complex social phenomenon in a fair and sustainable manner.
