Abstract

In the era of competitive online media, maintaining the accuracy and speed of news is a major challenge for editorial staff. The presence of technology also enriches the process of reporting and disseminating news, however, its use also creates new challenges in maintaining news quality. This research aims to explore the strategies implemented by online media editors in maintaining news accuracy. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data sources. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature study and analysis of various related literature, articles and documents. The research results show that the role of journalists is very important in a successful editorial strategy. An effective editorial strategy in maintaining news quality involves a multi-stage verification process, implementation of strict journalism standards, use of trustworthy sources, training and professional development, and active interaction with readers. Technology plays an important role in supporting the process, although it also presents challenges such as high time pressure and the influence of social media. By utilizing technology, adhering to journalism ethics, and engaging in active interaction with readers, journalists can effectively maintain the accuracy and speed of news in online media, ensuring the information conveyed can be trusted by the public.
