Abstract

Law enforcement in Indonesia has been under intense scrutiny in recent years, especially in relation to the rise in corruption cases and injustice in handling cases involving the lower middle class. One of the fundamental problems that continues to haunt the Indonesian justice system is the high level of corruption among government officials and law enforcement agencies. Corruption cases involving political and bureaucratic elites often experience slow and selective legal processes, raising doubts about the effectiveness of law enforcement. Therefore, a more in-depth analysis of the causes and solutions to the problem of weak law enforcement in Indonesia is needed. This is useful for improving the integrity of the legal system and law enforcement officials in Indonesia. This research will use qualitative methods based entirely on references from previous research to investigate weak law enforcement in Indonesia. Qualitative research methods were chosen because they allow researchers to gain an in-depth understanding of the context, dynamics and complexity of weak law enforcement, while accommodating a flexible analytical framework. In conclusion, this research reveals the complexity of weak law enforcement in Indonesia, especially related to corruption, political intervention, structural weaknesses, inequality in the judiciary, and cultural factors. Concrete steps are needed to improve the integrity of law enforcement, including eradicating corruption, increasing the independence of legal institutions, structural improvements, and increasing transparency.
