Consumer Protection, Traditional MarketAbstract
This research was conducted at the Pekanbaru Dupa Market, Riau Province. The aim of the research is to determine the implementation of consumer protection in the use of weighing equipment and equipment at the Dupa Market and regarding the fulfillment of consumer rights. In terms of transparency, one of the business actors at the Dupa Market in selling their merchandise violated Law Number 8 of 1999 Article 4 concerning Consumer Protection. Based on the research results, it shows that the suitability of the scales in the incense market has been fulfilled because the goods obtained are in accordance with what consumers purchased, thus providing protection for consumers. Meanwhile, traders' transparency regarding the condition of the goods they sell themselves has not been fulfilled. This is because it can be seen from the samples that the trader claims that the oranges he sells taste sweet. However, after trying it, it turned out that the orange tasted bland and tended to be sour, not sweet as the seller claimed. This is a form of violation of the obligations of business actors, namely Article 7 letter b which reads: Provide correct, clear and honest information regarding the condition and guarantee of goods and/or services as well as providing explanations of use, repair and maintenance. And it has violated Article 4 letter c of the Consumer Protection Law which stipulates that consumers have the right to "correct, clear and honest information regarding the condition and guarantee of goods and/or services."
