Abstract

In the economic sector, the Indonesian government has implemented various community empowerment programs in the economic sector to improve community welfare. One of these programs is implemented by prison officers to increase motivation for prisoners. The skills and crafts program run by prison officers (Correctional Institutions) aims to provide prisoners with skills and knowledge that can help them prepare for life after detention. Prison skills programs are initiatives that aim to give inmates the opportunity to develop skills that can benefit them after their term of incarceration is over. These programs can be run by correctional officers or through collaboration with government agencies, non-profit organizations, or volunteers. The research objective will explain the implementation of skills and crafts programs by prison officers to increase motivation for prisoners. qualitative research method using data from journals and previous research. The results of this research are that the implementation of skills and crafts programs by prison officers has a very important role in increasing motivation for prisoners. This will involve prisoners in selecting skills programs that suit their interests and talents, which will increase their motivation in participating in the program. In addition, prison officers need to provide clear information about the benefits and objectives of skills and crafts programs. This helps inmates understand how the program can help their future
