Abstract

Work safety in the mining industry, especially at the KCI (PT Kaltim Prima Coal) and Kideco (PT Kideco Jaya Agung) companies in East Kalimantan, is the main focus in efforts to prevent potentially detrimental work accidents. This article explores how these two companies have taken proactive steps to mitigate risks and improve workplace safety for their workers. The importance of work safety in the mining world cannot be ignored, considering that this sector often involves high risks. Moreover, this risk can have a significant impact on the lives and welfare of workers, as well as company operations. In this article, we explore the concrete initiatives that KCI and Kideco have taken in creating a strong safety culture, identifying and addressing potential risks, and providing quality training and education to their workers. Through joint efforts with workers, management and relevant authorities, KCI and Kideco strive to create a safer working environment, reduce the risk of accidents and safeguard the welfare of their workers. This case study can provide valuable insight for other companies in the mining sector seeking to improve their workplace safety, while maintaining productivity and contributing to the success of the industry as a whole.
