HUBUNGAN OBESITAS DAN RIWAYAT PEMBERIAN ASI DENGAN KEJADIAN KANKER PAYUDARA PADA PASIEN WANITA DI RUMAH SAKIT TUGUREJO SEMARANG

Breast cancer is the most prevalent case in Indonesia, with a total of 68,858 cases recorded in 2022. Breast cancer can occur due to several risk factors, including obesity and a history of breastfeeding. In Indonesia, according to Riskesdas, the prevalence of obesity has increased from 2007 to 2013. Currently, many mothers choose formula milk as a substitute or supplement to breastfeeding. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between obesity, history of breastfeeding, and the incidence of breast cancer among female patients at Tugurejo Hospital, Semarang. This study utilizes a quantitative approach with an observational analytical design and a cross-sectional approach. Consecutive sampling technique is used to select the samples. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the medical records of female patients at Tugurejo Hospital in 2022. The univariate analysis was conducted on a total sample of 64 individuals, with 32 respondents being female breast cancer patients and the other 32 respondents having other types of cancer. Most respondents were non-obese (76.6%) and had a history of breastfeeding (62.5%). The chi-square analysis for each variable showed a significant relationship between obesity (p=0.018), history of breastfeeding (p=0.020), and the incidence of breast cancer. There is a significant relationship between obesity, history of breastfeeding, and the incidence of breast cancer.
