HUBUNGAN SELF-ESTEEM DAN FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO) PADA PENGGUNA INSTAGRAM

Study that was done previously have investigated Fear of missing out (FoMO) and selfesteem in teenagers. However, relationship between Fear of missing out (FoMO) and self-esteem on instagram users are not known. To bridge this gap, the current study utilizes to examine whether self-esteem has a relationship with Fear of missing out(FoMO). The participants of this study are instagram users in Indonesia with 264 data (N=264) with the age range of 18-24 years were collected to test the research model. This study utilized a quantitative non-experimental methodology and convenience sampling. Self-esteem measuring instrument used was the Rosenberg Selfesteem Scale (RSES) and Fear of missing out Scale (FOMOs) was used to measure FoMO. With the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) having 20 statement item and Fear of missing outScale (FOMOs) having 10 statement items filled by participants using the likert scale. The study findings suggest that self-esteem and FoMO are negatively correlated with r = - .307**, p =.000 < .005.
