ANALISIS PERAN NEGARA DALAM MENANGGAPI AKSI KAMISAN

Abstract

Since 2007, the Kamisan action has been a peaceful protest responding to various unresolved human rights violations in Indonesia.This action demonstrates the state's failure to address significant past human rights violations, such as the 1965 Tragedy, the Trisakti Tragedy, and the abduction of activists in 1998.The purpose of this research is to evaluate the role of the state in addressing the demands voiced by the participants of the Kamisan Action, whether through institutional actions, political attitudes, or policies.This research was conducted qualitatively and used a case study approach.The results show that the state's response to Kamisan's demands tends to be symbolic and has not yet addressed the substantive aspects of justice for the victims and their families.They also analyze secondary data such as media reports and official government documents.In addition, there are inconsistencies in law enforcement and reconciliation policies, as well as a tendency to politicize human rights issues.This research emphasizes that independent human rights institutions must be strengthened, state archives must be more transparent, and there must be a stronger political commitment to resolve human rights violation cases fairly and openly.
