LITERATURE REVIEW: FAKTOR RISIKO GANGGUAN PERNAPASAN PADA PEKERJA PENGRAJIN KAYU

Abstract

The wood processing industry is a place for processing logs into products that can be made from wood. The wood processing industry sector has a significant contribution to national income by exporting various types of wood products. However, behind the economic benefits obtained, there are occupational health risks that can occur. The wood processing industry can produce wood dust and has the potential to cause air pollution of 10 to 13%. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the risk factors that can cause respiratory problems or can trigger more severe respiratory disorders. The method of this study is a literature review with a literature review conducted from scientific databases, namely Google Scholar, PubMed, and ResearchGate with a range of 2015-2025, both national and international articles. Based on the screening of articles that have been carried out, 10 articles were obtained which were then reviewed. The results of this literature review are various factors that can cause or trigger respiratory disorders in wood craftsmen, these factors are classified into internal factors and external factors. Internal factors that cause respiratory disorders in wood craftsmen are smoking habits and age, while external factors are exposure to dust, work mass and duration of dust exposure. These findings indicate the importance of risk control, especially in the wood industry, to reduce health problems in woodworkers.
