Abstract

Given the importance of the role of nurses in providing health services, this study aims to find factors that influence their performance, especially motivation and discipline, in the Urip Sumoharjo Hospital environment. Multiple linear regression analysis conducted in Motivation and work discipline proved to have a very large influence in encouraging employees to achieve better work results. With a population of 53 employees from the ICU nurse room of Urip Sumaharjo Hospital. The number of samples taken was 35 respondents, based on the Slovin formula. Using data analysis shows that there is a very strong relationship between motivation and employee performance. The t-value for motivation is very high (5,992), far exceeding the threshold value (2,045). In addition, the very small p-value (0.000) indicates that these results are very statistically significant. Likewise, work discipline also has a significant influence on performance, with a t-value of 2,560 and a p-value of 0.015, which indicates a significant influence. The two factors studied were able to explain 90.3% of the variation in employee performance. This means that other factors not studied only contributed 9.7%. The findings of the F test indicate a synergistic relationship between motivation and work discipline as the main determinants of employee performance. Thus, to achieve optimal performance, especially in the context of the nursing profession.
