Abstract

Narcotics Crime can be considered as the biggest problem in Indonesia. Victims of narcotics abuse continue to increase every year. Law Enforcement Officials continue to innovate on Law Enforcement on Narcotics Crimes. One of the methods used in enforcing the law on narcotics crimes is the method of undercover buying, which is the same as the Hand Catch Operation (OTT). One type of drug that is often found in circulation is the type of drug Shabu. This study uses a normative method by taking two approaches, namely the statutory approach (Statute Approach) and also the conceptual approach (Conceptual Approach). The results of this study are that there is legal protection for investigators in carrying out OTT and also for perpetrators of methamphetamine drug abuse. Criminal threats imposed on perpetrators of methamphetamine drug abuse are contained in article 114 paragraph (1) of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
