ANALISIS KRIMINOLOGI KONTEMPORER TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN KEJAHATAN DI ERA MODERN

Abstract

The development of crime in the modern era shows increasingly complex dynamics alongside technological advancement, globalization, and changes in social structures. This study aims to analyze the evolution of crime using a contemporary criminology perspective that emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach in understanding the causes, patterns, and impacts of crime. The method used is a literature review by examining various scientific sources, journals, and relevant references related to modern criminology and current crime phenomena. The findings indicate that crime in the modern era is no longer limited to conventional forms but has expanded into cybercrime, organized crime, and transnational crime, which are more difficult to control. Factors such as advancements in information technology, socio-economic inequality, and weak supervision and law enforcement systems contribute significantly to the increasing complexity of crime. Contemporary criminology provides a more comprehensive understanding through the integration of modern theories, such as social control theory, rational choice theory, and critical approaches to the legal system. Therefore, adaptive, collaborative, and technology-based crime prevention strategies are necessary to address modern crime challenges. This study is expected to contribute to the development of criminal policy and more effective crime prevention efforts.
