MODEL PENGELOLAAN OBAT DI INSTALASI FARMASI RUMAH SAKIT (Studi pada RSUD Al-Ihsan Provinsi Jawa Barat)

Abstract

The medication management model in the hospital pharmacy department is one of the crucial aspects in determining the quality of service in a hospital. This is a critical matter as it encompasses processes such as selection, procurement, distribution, and usage of medications in patient-oriented healthcare units. Therefore, it must be managed effectively and efficiently to enhance the quality of healthcare services. In a research study that employed a mixed-method approach involving qualitative and quantitative methods, it was found that there are medication management processes in the pharmacy department of Al-Ihsan Public Hospital that need to be evaluated. These include the procurement process directly related to medication providers, as well as the distribution process which should optimize warehouse utilization. However, not all processes have shortcomings; the usage process has been highly effective due to the digitalization of prescriptions available at Al-Ihsan Public Hospital and the selection process that adheres to both hospital and national standards.
