Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, as centres of traditional Islamic education, help the growth of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in their vicinity by providing infrastructure, human resources (HR), and networks. As a place of traditional Islamic education that grows and develops in the community, Islamic boarding schools have great potential to support the development of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). MSME players in nurul jadid Islamic boarding schools often face limited access constraints in their transactions and a lack of understanding of the policies and business regulations that apply in the pesantren environment as well as the lack of actualisation of students of umkm in Islamic boarding schools. This research method is qualitative research which is an activity to explore and understand the meaning of a number of individuals or groups of people who are considered to have the capacity of the social problems to be studied. The type of research used in this research is field research which aims to examine and find out accurately related to the problems that actually occur when conducting research on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the Az-Zainiyah and Al-Hasyimiyah regions. The research approach used is a phenomenological approach. This phenomenological approach is used to determine symptoms and facts in real life and social interactions. The result of the research is that the largest income of MSMEs in nurul jadid Islamic boarding school is owned by kopin with sales such as clothing, food. The use of the e-bekal application that adapts to the use of electronic money and also facilitates the actualisation of umkm transactions in kopin is also greater than that of other units. This is due to the complete facilities that support transactions. So that it gives rise to actualisation in santri not only for shopping but also for learning to manage businesses when going out into the community. In the buying and selling process, Nurul Jadid pesantren uses several contracts, namely; bai', wadiah, and salam. Pesantren policies are also a supporting factor for appropriate umkm transactions.
