Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify and examine the leading economic sectors in the economy of Gunung Kidul Regency. The data used is secondary data sourced from BPS, namely Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRB) data for Gunung Kidul Regency and the Yogyakarta Special Province for 2019-2021. The analytical methods used to determine the leading sectors include Shift Share, Location Quotient (LQ), and Klassen Typology. The final results obtained from this study indicate that the main leading are the agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the mining and quarrying sector. These leading sectors are driving forces of economic growth in Gunung Kidul Regency.
