Abstract

Investment is an act of releasing money which has the hope of obtaining profits in the future, investment is one of the factors in the formation of stable and equitable economic growth in a region. In Banten Province, there are many industries that cause many investors to invest quite a lot. This study aims to estimate the direction and magnitude of the influence of HDI, District/City Minimum Wage, Proportion of GDP in the Service Sector, Proportion of GDP in the Industrial Sector, and Unemployment on Investment in Banten Province in 2016-2020 using regression panel data and selected estimation models Random Effect Model (REM). The results of this study show that the Proportion of Industrial Sector GDP has a positive influence on investment. Meanwhile, the Proportion of GDP of Service Sector and Unemployment (UEMP) have a negative influence on investment. Then the District/City Minimum Wage and Human Development Index (HDI) does not affect Investment in Banten Province. The government is expected to expand the budget for the free school program to have a superior Human Development Index (HDI) that is adjusted to the needs of industries so that many investors invest which causes equitable economic growth in Banten Province.
