Abstract

One way to measure the success of the performance of a region in the field of human development is to use the Human Development Index (IPM). This study aims to observe the direction and magnitude of the influence of the Gender Development Index, the number of people working, district minimum wages, economic growth, health sector government spending, and education sector government spending on the Human Development Index (IPM) in East Java in 2010-2020. The data analysis tool used is panel data regression analysis with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results of the study show that the variables Gender Development Index, District/City Minimum Wage, and Health Sector Government Expenditures have a significant positive effect on the Human Development Index. Meanwhile, the Number of Employed People, Economic Growth, and Government Expenditures in the Education Sector have no influence on the Human Development Index in East Java. The highest HDI was identified in Madiun City, while the lowest HDI was in Sampang Regency.
