Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and determine the most optimal zona sequence in the construction of a 7300 GT LPD RoRo vessel based on data from the SSV 1 (2016), SSV 2 (2017), and LPD (2018). The assessment was conducted on six main zonas of the vessel: engine room, cargo hold, aft part, fore part, wheel house, and hangar. The analysis results show that the SSV 2 project in 2017 provided the best performance in five of the six zone, with block modularization strategies such as the use of two-block and four-block joint blocks proven to increase the efficiency of the zona process. This study also identified several technical and managerial factors that influenced changes in the zona sequence, such as weather conditions, delays in feeding blocks, heavy equipment readiness, and inter-division coordination. Furthermore, changes in the zona sequence were proven to have a direct impact on the duration of the main equipment loading stage, where delays in supporting structures can disrupt the main engine installation schedule. A modular approach, dynamic sequencing strategies, and planning integration such as the Critical Path Method (CPM) are key to maintaining project time effectiveness and flexibility. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for developing ship construction planning and increasing production efficiency in the national shipbuilding industry.
