INTEGRASI SOSIAL ORANG BOOI DENGAN ORANG KAMAL DI KECAMATAN KAIRATU BARAT

Abstract

Various studies conducted on transmigrant communities with indigenous people show more facts and data about conflict, not being able to live side by side with indigenous people, where transmigrant communities are often categorized as immigrants who do not have the right to manage the natural resources where they live. The existence of the Booi people in Kamal Country almost does not cause any conflict, they are able to live side by side and be united or integrated with the native people of Kamal Country. This phenomenon is interesting to understand and explain in more depth the factors related to social integration and the forms of integration that take place between different groups in the Maluku region, especially in Negeri Kamal. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The results of the research show that the form of social integration between the Booi people and the native people of Kamal Country is more towards what is called interactionist integration and functional integration. Interactionist integration is realized through several factors, namely the exchange of worship servants between the Booi People and the Kamal People, helping each other to clean the Kamal Country Environment, helping each other when someone dies, the Booi People entrusting the Kamal People as godparents and vice versa. Functional integration is realized through the division of labor in building churches and schools.
