Abstract

This study examines social harmonization in Nua Limazua indigenous community in Bajawa sub-district, Ngada district. Nua Limazua indigenous people are an indigenous group in Ngada Regency who still highly uphold customs and traditions. One of the traditions in this community is the traditional reba ceremony which is carried out every year by involving the community within the scope of Nua Limazua village. The benefit of this research is as information material to enrich knowledge about the local wisdom of the archipelago, as a follow-up material for research related to social harmonization of the indigenous people of Nua Limazua, as information to awaken and foster social harmony in society. The approach used in this study was qualitative and data were obtained from four informants through observation and interviews. The results of this study show that the traditional reba ceremony shows that the life of the indigenous people of Nua Limazua is very responsive to the people around them. The indigenous people of Nua Limazua have full awareness of their existence in the community, so that in their common life they interact with each other comfortably, they are not individual but they cooperate with each other. The traditional reba ceremony that is carried out can strengthen brotherhood and kinship. The social life of indigenous peoples who care for each other and cooperate is the reason for creating harmonization in community life. There are values that should be maintained and preserved so that they are not lost in time. Traditional rituals are a sign that indigenous people in Nua Limazua village are not separated from cultural interference in their survival.
