PERANAN MAHASISWA DAN LEMBAGA DALAM MEMBANGUN TOLERANSI KERAGAMAN BUDAYA DI SEKOLAH TINGGI ILMU EKONOMI MAKASSAR

Abstract

This research is intended to look for the relationship between institutions and students in building cultural diversity tolerance. This research is intended to look for the relationship between students and institutions in building cultural diversity tolerance. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, namely multiple regression analysis tests, validity tests, and reliability tests. This research was conducted at Makassar College of Economics. Data collection, researchers used 2 types of questionnaires for the 2 variables studied. Each questionnaire contains 20 question items, with a Likert scale; Strongly Agree (SS), Agree (S), Disagree (TS), and Strongly Disagree (STS). This research was conducted on December 4 – 7 2022. The sample used was 30 students from semester 1 to semester 8. The gender of the respondents was male and female. The ages of the respondents were between 19 – 30 years, with origins from Makassar, Manado, Java Island, West Kalimantan, Ambon, South Sumatra and Papua. The results of the study show that students at STIEM have a low level of awareness in respecting and understanding cultural diversity. The role of the Makassar College of Economics Student Association has an influence of 97.3% on the level of awareness among students in respecting and understanding cultural diversity.
