Abstract

According to the WHO in 2019, an estimated 17.9 million people died fromcardiovascular disease (CVD), one of which was heart failure. Theoccurrence of ischemic heart failure begins with the process ofatherosclerosis in the coronary blood vessels which causes damage to theendothelium so that LDL can enter the intima of the blood vessels and causeplaque. LDL can be affected by physical activity and dietary pattern. Objective: The study aims to analyze whether there is a relationship betweenphysical activity, and diet on LDL levels in patients with Low FractionEjection Heart Failure at Tugurejo Semarang Hospital. Methods: This studyused an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. Thepopulation of this study were patients with heart failure reduced ejectionfraction at Tugurejo Semarang hospital who met the inclusion and exclusioncriteria of 42 people with purposive sampling method. This research dataused secondary data in the form of questionnaires and laboratoryexamination results, analyzed using non-parametric tests, namely theSpearman Rank test. Results: Physical activity results obtained p-value =0.001 (p < 0.05) with a negative correlation direction. Regarding diet, the p-value = <0.001 (p <0.05) with a negative correlation. Conclusion: There isa significant relationship between physical activity and dietary patterns onLDL levels in patients with heart failure reduced ejection fraction.
