Marijuana or mariyuana is a psychotropic containing tetrahydrocannabinol as the main chemical compound that makes users experience euphoria. Marijuana is usually used as a roll to be smoked so that the effects of the substance react quickly rather than use by mixing with food or drinks. If there is marijuana legalization in Indonesia, there will be many risks faced when making marijuana legalization policies, one of the risks is the opening of the potential for illicit trade and problems arising from the influence of addiction and hallucinations due to consuming marijuana. The legalization of marijuana is basically contrary to Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics which contains criminal violations in marijuana possession. Articles 6, 8, and 12 explain that marijuana is a class I narcotic that is not used for the benefit of health services and is only used for the needs of limited scientific development. If this is violated, there is a minimum criminal sanction of 4 years in prison and with a maximum of the death penalty. This study aims to find out what are the benefits and impacts if marijuana legalization occurs in Indonesia. This research method uses normative research methods (normative law research) in the form of legal behavior products, by reviewing laws
