Abstract

It is important for brand owners to consider registering their mark with a notary or registered trademark consultant with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. With legal trademark registration, it will be easier for brand owners to protect their brand rights and prevent unauthorized use of the mark by other parties. In addition, it is important for the government to increase outreach and education about the importance of registering a mark to the public. This can help people to better understand their intellectual property rights and provide better legal protection for their brands. In the event of an unregistered trademark infringement, the trademark owner may file a civil or criminal lawsuit against the infringer. However, the legal process will be more difficult and time-consuming and costly compared to if the mark has been registered with a notary or registered trademark consultant at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. In order to improve the protection of trademark rights in Indonesia, the government must strengthen the legal system and improve the effectiveness of the mark registration process. In addition, the public must be more aware of the importance of trademark registration and their intellectual property rights, and avoid unauthorized use of marks.
