Online car buying and selling transactions in Indonesia are growing rapidly, in line with technological advances and the increasing use of e-commerce platforms. However, along with this growth, there are also various legal risks that can harm consumers and sellers. This study aims to examine the legal protection for consumers and sellers in online car buying and selling transactions, based on the provisions stipulated in Law Number 8 Year 1999 on Consumer Protection and Law Number 11 Year 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions. The results of the analysis show that the available legal protection is still not fully effective in ensuring transaction security, especially regarding information transparency, dispute resolution, and payment security guarantees. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen regulations and educate the public to increase awareness and understanding of rights and obligations in electronic transactions. This research is expected to contribute to legal development.
