Copyright protection is important to maintain the sustainability of the creative industry, the existence of the Copyright Law provides a strong legal basis for protecting copyright in Indonesia. The Copyright Law is an effort by the state to protect the economic rights and moral rights of creators and owners of Related Rights as an important element in the development of national creativity. In the increasingly developing digital era, social media platforms such as Instagram have become a popular means for users to share content, including digital images of architecture. However, in reality, copyright infringement still occurs in various aspects, including in digital images of architecture on social media platforms. A normative approach is used to examine laws, legal regulations, and practices of using social media platforms. The research methodology includes literature studies, policy analysis, and comparisons with other social media platforms. The main findings are expected to provide a better understanding of the challenges and legal implications faced by the architectural profession, as well as a basis for improving policies and regulations in protecting copyright in the digital era. Potential implications of the results of this study include recommendations for better practices in the use of social media by architects and other users, as well as improvements to copyright protection policies on social media platforms, especially Instagram. This research is expected to provide significant contributions to the understanding of the complexity of copyright issues in the digital context and professional practice in the field of architecture. Thus, the results of this study can help in raising awareness of the importance of respecting copyright among users of social media platforms, as well as providing a basis for more effective policy updates in protecting copyright in the digital era, especially in the context of digital architectural images.
