Abstract

This article discusses the concepts of constitutionalism and democracy in the context of the implementation of the state system in Indonesia. Constitutionalism, as a principle that regulates state power based on law and constitution, has become the foundation for modern states. Democracy, on the other hand, places the people as the highest holders of power, guaranteeing their rights and freedoms in determining the direction of the state. This article analyzes the definitions, principles, and implementation of both concepts in the Indonesian state system, as well as discussing the complex relationship between constitutionalism and democracy. By analyzing the history of the development of both concepts, this article provides a comprehensive insight into the dynamics of constitution and democracy in Indonesia today.
