Abstract

An international trade agreement or commonly abbreviated as PPI is an agreement in the form of and certain names regulated by international law, made in writing, made in writing, to increase market access, protect and secure rights and obligations in field of public law to ensure national interests.There are various forms of international trade agreements, such as free trade agreements or bilateral investment agreements. A free trade agreement (FTA) is a type of international trade agreement that includes or involves two or more parties entering into the agreement. Usually, international trade agreements regulate the imposition of reciprocal preferential tariffs between the parties entering into the agreement. Meanwhile, a bilateral investment treaty (BIT) is a reciprocal agreement that is usually made between two countries. Bilateral investment agreements are used to provide increased and protected investment in each region involved, as well as protection for foreign investors. There is also a specific aim of bilateral investment agreements, namely to reduce economic and non-economic risks and open up investment opportunities. This research aims to determine the suitability of the elements in international trade agreements from a legal perspective in Indonesia. The research method we use in this article is a qualitative research method, in the form of a document study or case study. The sources we got came from existing articles or news, according to the research we conducted. This article also outlines the importance of analyzing international trade agreements, such as free trade agreements and bilateral investment agreements, according to Indonesian law.
