MERAWAT PERSATUAN DAN KESATUAN BANGSA TERHADAP ISU SARA DALAM BINGKAI BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA

Abstract

Nusantara is an area on the South East Asian continent that geographically has a unique diversity in each of its islands. The diversity of ethnicity, culture, religion and inter-group (SARA) is actually a gift. However, there are still some people who think differences can ignite negative sentiments so that they can be a threat to the unity and integrity of the nation in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). We as Pancasila people need to be wise in addressing the issue of SARA. The existence of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is a motto that expresses unity and integrity derived from diversity. Therefore, the author is interested in researching: 1. How is the relationship between Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika? 2. How can Bhinneka Tunggal Ika maintain national unity and integrity against the issue of SARA? Research methods used based on normative perspectives and through literature study. The results revealed that in the concept of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika there is local wisdom in the form of the teachings of mutual cooperation, tolerance, hard work, and mutual respect. These elements inspired the founding fathers in formulating Pancasila as the philosophy and foundation of the NKRI. Meanwhile, the noble values contained in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika which were explored historically by the founding fathers, can be actualized in everyday life to realize the national unity and integrity in fortifying SARA issues. Caring for national unity and integrity must involve all elements of the nation in a systematic institution, namely: 1. preventive measures, 2. repressive actions, and 3. curative actions.
