Abstract

The Government's Role in Local Culture in Tourism Development. There is still a shortage of local cultural heritage objects. Data collection and determination of cultural heritage objects in the region is very important to maintain the existence and authenticity of a historical heritage site. Such as low destination management and low budgets and one of the shortcomings, such as at the Candy Singosari site, is that parking space and entrepreneurship are still minimal, while at Sumberawan Temple there is still a lack of road facilities in the tourism area. Regarding such conditions, the Malang Regency government needs to be serious in improving local cultural heritage facilities so that visitors who come feel comfortable and can enjoy the existing cultural heritage, this is a very good potential to develop and also maintain historical and historical values and increase income both Malang Regency government or the local community. The aim of this research is to explain the role of government in local culture in tourism development. This research method uses a qualitative research method because local culture is still very diverse, so based on this type of research the researcher tries to provide in-depth information regarding the Government's Role in Local Culture in Tourism Development. The results of this research are that as a regional government coordinator, you can determine policies or strategies for regional development and embrace all components of society to become the main actor in development. Includes the role of government as coordinator and associations in the tourism sector as tourism organizers, both at local, regional and international levels. According to Law No. 32 of 2004, what is meant by regional government is the administration of government affairs by the local government and DPRD according to the principle of autonomy and assistance duties with the principle of the widest possible autonomy within the system and principles of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as intended in the State Constitution.
