PENGARUH PENERAPAN EVALUASI DIAGNOSTIK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA PADA SISWA SMP ISLAM AL – HASANAH CILEDUG

Abstract

The ability of students to understand mathematics at SMP Islam Al – Hasanah Ciledug is still low, the implementation of diagnostic evaluation is still rarely carried out. The learning method used in Al-Hasanah Ciledug Islamic Middle School, where the teacher dominates learning activities so that it does not directly involve student activities. This causes the level of students' understanding of mathematics to be low. In this study, researchers tried to examine the diagnostic evaluation carried out at the beginning as well as at the end of the lesson. Due to the existence of a diagnostic evaluation, it is hoped that the compiler will find all the obstacles of students who have problems in their learning, and find out how many students have the same learning case. Based on the description above, the authors are interested in conducting research with the title The Effect of Diagnostic Evaluation Application on the Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts in Al Hasanah Ciledug Islamic Middle School Students. This study uses a quasi-experimental approach with a nonrandomized control-group pretest-posttest design, in which a group of subjects is taken from a certain population and then subjected to treatment successively. After being given treatment successively, the subject was given a pre-test and post-test to measure the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the group. The results in this study are the ability to understand mathematical concepts of Al - Hasanah Islamic Middle School students are in the average stage by looking at the results of the pre-test given before the treatment, average in terms of grades and some students have low scores in terms of time taken in working on the problem, so the researcher concluded that the ability of each student is different according to their respective abilities.
