Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of speech acts contained in the short story "Meeting is Opportunity, Together is Choice" by Andrei Budiman. The method used is qualitative analysis method. The data in this study are in the form of utterances or dialogues contained in the short story "Meeting is Opportunity, Together is Choice" by Andrei Budiman. The analysis technique carried out is by reading and taking notes. In the study, six directive speech acts were found, namely asking, asking, requiring, and permissive speech acts.
