TINJAUAN SISTEMATIS POTENSI PEMANFAATAN MINYAK ALPUKAT (PERSEA AMERICANA MILL) SEBAGAI PEMBUATAN SERUM

Abstract

Background: Avocado oil has many benefits for skin health. However, there are still very few beauty products in the form of serums made from this basic ingredient. So research was carried out regarding the knowledge and advantages of this product. Objective: To review the literature regarding the use of avocado oil as a cosmetic in form of serums. Method: A systematic search was carried out by identifying relevant articles in 4 bases, namely (Google Scholars, Pubmed, Elsivier, and DOAJ). Both include the secondary metabolite content contained in avocado oil and the reasons why it is suitable for making different cosmetic preparations. Data analysis uses a checklist prism with specified criteria. Results: Six journals were selected because they were included in the journal criteria which were used as requirements for this review. All products show their superiority because they discuss the content of avocado oil which is efficacious for serums and also its potential if existing cosmetic research is developed further by making serum products from avocado oil. Conclusion: Avocado oil contains fatty acids and secondary metabolites which are good for the face, especially as a cosmetic preparation. Even though there is still little research, it can be concluded that avocado oil has a lot of potential if you want to use it as a serum preparation. It is hoped that in the future there will be many journal developments and product developments of the type of cosmetic preparation "serum" from superior avocado oil with various uses for the skin.
