Malnutrition is defined as an imbalance between nutritional needs and intake, resulting in a cumulative deficit of energy, protein or micronutrients which can have a negative impact on a child's growth and development. Stunting and wasting are two conditions that are related and continuous, and are also the result of the interaction of various factors, including maternal and household factors, quality and quantity of feeding practices, and infections. This case report aims to apply a holistic and comprehensive family doctor approach, and carry out Evidence Based Medicine-based management using the Family Approach to a child named M who is 1-year-6-month- old boy with stunting and wasting. M and his family were given education about nutrition and food refusal to meet nutritional needs to support his growth and development. They also received information regarding immunisations needed to avoid illnesses and mortality that are worsened by malnutrition. The diagnosis and management of this patient has been carried out in a holistic, patient-centred, family approach and based on several theories and the latest research. M has benefited from holistic management, gaining weight and a better awareness from his family about nutrition and malnutrition prevention.
