UJI TOKSISITAS AKUT LIMBAH ANTIBIOTIK STREPTOMICYN DAN TETRASIKLIN HCl TERHADAP IKAN MAS (Cyprinus carpio L.)
Keywords:
Antibiotic Waste, Streptomycin, Tetracycline HCl, Goldfish, Acute ToxicityAbstract
The pharmaceutical industry is growing from year to year, along with the development of the pharmaceutical industry, it produces a lot of liquid waste that has toxic and dangerous characteristics. This pharmaceutical waste contains analgesics and antibiotics. Antibiotic waste can cause quite serious damage to the environment, especially to water. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the effluent entering the water receiving body contains toxic compounds at certain concentrations, which can cause the death of the test animals expressed by the LC50 (Median Lethal Concentration) value. The study used sample preparation methods, anaerobic-aerobic waste processes, acclimitation of test animals and the WET method to measure the total toxic effect regardless of its physical and chemical composition. The test was carried out using the WET (Whole Effluent Toxicity) method. Testing the parameters of the antibiotic waste mixed with streptomycin and tetracycline HCl was carried out on the values of COD, BOD, and TSS and yielded values of 60 mg/L, 16.5 mg/L, and 267 mg/L, respectively. The results of the acute toxicity test of mixed streptomycin and tetracycline HCl antibiotic waste using carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) yielded LC50 and TUa values of 2.0224 and 49.447 (high acute toxicity).
