Abstract

Nutritional status is one of the indicators used to determine the health status of the community. Nutritional status is the state of the body as a result of food consumption and use of nutrients. Stunting (short) or chronic malnutrition is another form of growth failure. Children who are stunted often appear to have a proportional normal body, but are actually shorter than the normal height of children their age. Stunting is a cumulative process and is caused by insufficient intake of nutrients or recurrent infectious diseases, or both. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in children under five in East Java. This type of research is non-reactive, which is a type of research for secondary data where the research subject is not aware of being researched and becomes part of the research. The population of this research is the number of children under five who are stunted in 38 districts / cities of East Java Province. The results showed that the coverage of ANC, IMD, and KEK visits did not significantly influence the incidence of stunting. The F test produces a significance value of 0.000 so that the independent variables simultaneously have an influence on the dependent variable. All of the classical linear regression assumptions in this study are fulfilled. The results of the multiple linear regression test prove that the incidence of stunting affects the independent variable by 45.30%, so that there are other factors that affect it by 54.70%. IMD coverage has a dominant effect on the incidence of stunting with a value of 0.347.
