Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to implement a competency-based curriculum that is more thoughtful to students. The goal of the Merdeka Curriculum is to shift the focus of education from memorization and examinations to developing students' abilities to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others. The study of fiqh, or the science of fiqh, is an important part of the Islamic education curriculum. Fiqh is a scientific discipline that studies Islamic laws related to everyday life, such as worship, muamalah (financial affairs), and adab (procedures). In learning fiqh, students will learn basic concepts such as the pillars of Islam and the pillars of faith, and then learn the laws related to procedures for worship, zakat, fasting, and pilgrimage. The method used in this research is descriptive or qualitative. The location of the research in this research was at MTs Negeri 2 Karawang in grade 9. The results in this study were the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in learning fiqh at MTs Negeri 2 Karawang by integrating fiqh learning with the values of national character, such as honesty, tolerance, and cooperation. This can be done by emphasizing these values in teaching and providing examples that are embodied in everyday life. Implementation of the Independent Curriculum can also be done by developing students' creativity and innovation in learning fiqh. This can be done by providing space for students to develop creative and innovative ideas in applying Islamic laws in everyday life.
