MODERNISASI LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN HINGGA ABAD KE-21

Abstract

Pondok pesantren, one of Indonesia's oldest Islamic institutions is an Islamic boarding school. Until now, they still follow an important contribution in the socioreligius field. Islamic Boarding schools as Educational Instituattions thatb have strong (indigeneous) roots in Indonesian Muslim community. This research method uses the method of literature review. This study aims to improve our understanding of the history and development of Islamic boarding schools, from their inception to the present day. This time, there are three problem formulations: Islamic boarding schools as educational institutions, Islamic boarding school history, and Islamic boarding school modernization. Many people debate when Islamic boarding schools were first established in Indonesia, and finally many opinions emerged about when Islamic boarding schools were first established. Along with the development of the times, Islamic boarding schools have also undergone periodic modernization up until the present day.
