Abstract

Through citizenship education courses or programs, universities can provide ample space for students to understand, internalize, and apply the values of Pancasila in their daily lives and social interactions. The aim of this research is to identify the effectiveness and impact of citizenship education in internalizing Pancasila values among students. This study is based on literature review, previous research such as textbooks, theses, legal dictionaries, citizenship materials, as well as legal opinions from experts published in journals, magazines, or the internet. By aligning Pancasila values across all courses and programs in universities, students can continue to be exposed to these values throughout their studies. This creates room for Pancasila values to be more internalized in the thinking and behavior of students. Thus, higher education holds great potential as a platform to strengthen national identity and unity. However, it is acknowledged that these integration efforts require strong support and commitment from all education stakeholders, as well as improvement in the quality of teaching and learning.
