Abstract

Legislation review in Indonesia is a crucial mechanism to ensure that all legal products comply withthe constitution. There are three main forms of review: legislative review, executive review, and judicialreview, each with distinct positions, authorities, and characteristics. Legislative review, conducted bythe House of Representatives (DPR) and the President, revises laws emphasizing popular sovereigntybut is politically influenced. Executive review, conducted by the President over regulations below thelaw, emphasizes administrative oversight but is prone to politicization. Judicial review, conducted bythe Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, ensures conformity of laws and regulations with the1945 Constitution and is final and binding. These mechanisms complement each other in maintainingconstitutional supremacy and legal certainty, forming a system of checks and balances, andstrengthening legal and governmental stability. However, their effectiveness relies on the integrity, independence, and professionalism of the institutions involved, as well as public participation inlegislative and executive review processes. The synergy of these mechanisms enhances democratic legalgovernance, fairness, and guarantees legal certainty for all citizens
